Lesson 21: Everyone Needs Encouragement 

Topic: In this story, Alongsiders and their little brothers and sisters will learn about the negative effect criticism can have and the importance of encouragement in order to promote growth.

Scripture: The scripture for this lesson is 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Discussion: The discussion questions will guide the Alongsider and their little brother or sister in identifying what words hurt them and what words build them up.

Activity: Through the application activity the Alongsider will encourage their little brother or sister and together they will plant a tree as a symbol and remember the power of encouragement.
